Coldplay - Twisted Logic Tour - Palacio de Deportes

Following the release of their third album, X & Y, in June, and back live after a two-year break, the lads from Coldplay return to Europe to continue their Twisted Logic for three dates in Spain, here arriving at Madrid's Palacio de Deportes.

Coldplay's debut album, Parachutes, was nominated for 2000's Mercury Music Prize, topped the album charts and catapulted the band into the big time. It featured a mix of melancholic ballads and heartfelt rock 'n' roll which, while hardly breaking any new musical ground, proved very successful with both the critics and the public. There's certainly no denying the quality of songs like Shiver or the single, Yellow.

With 2002's A Rush of Blood to the Head, the band stirred souls with off-kilter anthems, such as Politik and the single, In My Place. It was no surprise that Brit and Grammy award recognition followed and the album has sold over nine million copies.

In the wake of the second album two more of the band got married, including charismatic vocalist Chris Martin in the full glare of the media to Gwynneth Paltrow. Together with drummer Will Champion, guitarist Jonny Buckland and bass Guy Berryman, Martin has been working hard with producers Danton Supple (Morrissey, Elbow) and Ken Nelson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kings of Convenience) on the third album. With X & Y - and the first single from it Speed of Sound they have once again unleashed their stirring rock onto an eager public.
